HOW TO BORROW OR LOAN AIRTIME FROM AIRTEL, MTN, ETISALAT AND GLO

 
Airtel, MTN, Glo and Etisalat allows their subscriber to loan or borrow airtime from them in case of emergency or any other urgent issue arising. This is a very good act of care and kindness shown by the four major Internet Service Providers running here in Nigeria. With the airtime loan access, you no longer have to get scared of running out of airtime or hanging up your calls prematurely due to lack of airtime. Before you are able to borrow airtime from MTN, Glo and Etisalat, you have to beat certain criteria which are usually termed eligibility status. These conditions are different for each Internet Service Provider and usually involve the use of their SIM card for at least 3 months of age and the recharge of certain minimum amount of airtime in a month. We are going to see these conditions as we proceed.

HOW TO BORROW OR LOAN AIRTIME FROM MTN


MTN introduced the MTN Xtratime plan to enable their eligible customers to borrow airtime (credit) from them. This has saved a lot of their customers from going through the stress of going out in the night to buy airtime or finding their selves wanting in the case of emergency. Like I said before, in order for you to be able to borrow airtime from MTN, you must be eligible for it, that is to say, there are certain criteria you must meet in order to be able to loan airtime from them. Before, the only existing criteria was that you must have airtime within the range of zero naira (N0) to twelve Naira (N12) and that you must have also repaid all outstanding debts from the previously borrowed airtime but now, they have added a new one which states that your MTN SIM card must be 90 days of age before you can get a loan from them.
To borrow airtime from MTN, you simply need to dial *606#. From the displayed screen, you can then check your eligibility status and other options.
NOTE: MTN deducts a 10% service charge from whatever amount of airtime you borrow from them. What this means is that if you borrowed N100 airtime from MTN, they will deduct N10 from it thereby giving you N90 but while you are paying back the loan, you are refunding N100 not N90; so this happens to be a downside but it’s better than none though.

HOW TO BORROW OR LOAN AIRTIME FROM AIRTEL


Airtel Nigeria also has its own airtime borrowing plan; in fact, they are actually the first internet service provider to come up with this plan as at 2013. Just as it is called MTN Xtratime in the MTN network, it is also called Airtel TalkTime in the Airtel network. Airtel also has its own criteria which you must meet before borrowing airtime from them, this includes:
  1. Your Airtel line must be up to 3 months old (90 days).
  2. You must be a prepaid customer whose line is not suspended from using any of their services.
  3. You must have repaid all outstanding loan on the airtime collected previously.
You can borrow airtime from Airtel in two methods
Either you dial *500# and then choose from the options shown to you the amount of airtime you want to borrow which can either be N50, N100, N200 or N500
OR
you use the following codes below to choose any one of the airtime loans you desire.
Dial *500*50# for N50
Dial *500*100# for N100
Dial *500*200# for N200
Dial *500*500# for N500

HOW TO BORROW OR LOAN AIRTIME FROM GLO

You can borrow airtime from Glo in 2 simple steps.
First, you need to create a 4-digit PIN which you will be using in carrying out all your airtime loaning transactions. To create your own PIN, simply dial *321#
Second, after creating your PIN, you can then proceed to borrow your airtime by dialing in this format *321* PIN*AMOUNT TO BE BORROWED# for example, if my PIN was 1234 and I wish to borrow N100 from GLO, I will dial *321*1234*100#

NOTE: A 5% service charge fee will be deducted from any amount you borrow from Glo network which is nothing compared to the 10% swallowed by MTN.

HOW TO BORROW OR LOAN AIRTIME FROM ETISALAT


Etisalat just introduced their airtime loaning plan recently. Let’s see how it is done.
To check your eligibility status, you simply need to text DEBT to 665 while the actual borrowing can be done in 2 ways:
Either you dial *665# and then choose from the options shown to you the amount of airtime you want to borrow which can be N50, N100, N200, N500 etc
OR
you use the following codes below to choose any one of the airtime loans you need (i.e. *665*AMOUNT#)
Dial *665*50# for N50
Dial *665*100# for N100
Dial *665*200# for N200
Dial *665*500# for N500
NOTE: just like MTN, Etisalat also deducts a 10% service charge from whatever amount of airtime you borrow from them. What this means is that if you borrowed N100 airtime from Etisalat, they will deduct N10 from it thereby giving you N90 but while you are paying back the loan, you are refunding N100 not N90.

SIMPLEST METHOD OF BUYING AIRTIME FROM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT WITHOUT ATM

 

You can easily buy airtime directly from your bank account without having to go to any ATM center or using any online/internet banking. They have made it to be as easy as checking your account balance in your cell phone. With this method, you don’t have to go out at night to buy airtime/credit neither do you have to wait till working days in order to withdraw from your bank account in order to recharge your phone. Not only can you recharge directly from your bank account but you can also buy or transfer your airtime to friends and loved ones though this particular airtime transfer service is not supported by all banks. Buying airtime for a friend or relative requires you to have an ATM card with the bank as it requires the last 4 digits of the number inscribed on your ATM card. Guarantee Trust Bank (GT Bank), FCMB, First Bank, Fidelity Bank, Access Bank, Sterling Bank, Wema Bank, KeyStone Bank, EcoBank, Skye Bank, Diamond Bank, Union Bank, Zenith Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank etc are those banks that are supporting this service as at the time of this post. It is also worthy to note that the phone number you are going to use for this transaction MUST be the same phone number you registered with the bank. Let’s get to work.
NOTE: make sure that the USSD code you use is the one assigned to your bank.

HOW TO BUY AIRTIME/CREDIT FROM FIRST CITY MONUMENT BANK (FCMB)
To buy airtime directly from your FCMB Bank account, simply dial *389*214*1*Amount# example: *322*214*1500# to buy N1500 airtime from my bank account. FCMB only supports airtime transfer to the number you used to register the bank account

How to Buy Airtime/Credit from Guarantee Trust Bank:
To recharge your phone directly from your GT Bank account, simply dial *737*Amount# example: dialing *737*1000# will recharge my phone with N1000 airtime. To transfer airtime to friends and loved ones, Simply dial*737*Amount*Recipient Phone Number#, after that you’ll be asked to choose the network that your friend uses, then lastly you’ll be asked to input the last four digits of your ATM.
Eg: dialing *737*1000*0801111111122# and following the procedures stated above will transfer N1000 worth of airtime to that number.

How to Buy Airtime/Credit from First Bank
To do this, Simply dial *894*Amount#
E.g:  dialing *894*1000#  recharged my phone with. First bank only supports airtime transfer to the number you used to register the bank account.

How to Buy Airtime/Credit from Fidelity Bank
Just dial *770*Amount#  E.g. *770*1000# will recharge my phone with N1000 airtime. Fidelity bank only supports airtime transfer to the number you used to register the bank account.

How to Buy Airtime/Credit from Access Bank
Simply dial *901*Amount# E.g. dial *901*1000# for N1000 airtime. Access bank only supports airtime transfer to the number you used to register the bank account.

How to Buy Airtime/Credit from Sterling Bank
Just dial *882*Amount# E.g. dial *882*1000# for N1000 airtime. Sterling bank only supports airtime transfer to the number you used to register the bank account.

How to Buy Airtime/Credit from Wema Bank
Simply dial *332*035*Amount#
Example:  dial *332*035*1000# for N1000. Wema bank only supports airtime transfer to the number you used to register the bank account.

How to Buy Airtime/credit from Stanbic IBTC Bank
Dialing *909*Amount# will get your phone recharged with any amount you stated. E.g. *909*1000# for N1000 airtime.

How to Buy Airtime/credit from Diamond Bank
Dial *302*Amount# to get your phone recharged. E.g. *302*1000# for N1000 airtime

How to Buy Airtime/credit from Zenith Bank

How to Deactivate Etisalat’s BlackBerry Service (BIS)
To deactivate your BlackBerry data plan service, simply *229*0# or you Text STOP to 229. After using any of the above deactivation methods, you will receive a confirmatory message stating that you have successfully deactivated your BIS service. In order to reactivate it, you simply need to purchase any of their data plans and it will be automatically reactivated.

How to configure your Etisalat sim card for browsing
To configure your newly purchased or already owned SIM card for browsing, you can go with either of these two options:
Automatic configuration by texting SETTINGS to 790; you will receive your configuration settings in the form of a SMS so you have to save and activate it for browsing.

Glo is well known for offering data plans at the cheapest rate compared to other telecommunication networks like MTN, Airtel and Etisalat. If you check out Glo’s smartphone data plans, you will also confirm that indeed, it is the most affordable of all. What you will derive from this post is a tabular representation of all Glo’s BlackBerry plans, their activation codes, configuration settings and how to check your data balance.   2. The Glo BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) plans: BBM + BBMail + BB-Built Social Networking & IM Apps + internet browsing + App world + Option for 10 integrated email address + Access to Enterprise Server. 
  3. Comonth BlackBerry Plan has now been transformed into the Glo Complete Month Plan 
How to Subscribe To Glo BlackBerry Plan
You can subscribe for your desired Glo BlackBerry plan in 2 ways, either you text the appropriate keyword under the activation keyword column in the above tables to 777 or you simply dial their USSD code. For example, if I want to subscribe for Glo Complete month BlackBerry plan, I will text BBCmonth to 777 or I dial *777*21# on my mobile phone.

How to Check Your BlackBerry Plan usage Status
To check how far you’ve used your Glo BlackBerry data plan, you simply need to text STATUS to 777 and it will be replied to you.

Text BB to 0807 9877 777 to get more information about Glo BlackBerry data plan (other network subscribers only)
NOTE: to get more information, you can contact Glo customer care on 333.

HOW TO CONFIGURE YOUR GLO SIM FOR BROWSING
To configure your new Glo or already owned sim card, you have two options; either you get an automatic configuration from them or you get it done yourself manually

For manual configuration, enter the following settings carefully without omitting anything.

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO MTN BLACKBERRY PLAN: For you to subscribe, you only need to text the keyword for your desired blackberry plan as presented in the above table to 21600. For example, if I want to subscribe for BB10 MIDI Monthly Plan, I will text BBMIDIM to 21600.

HOW TO CHECK DATA STATUS: text STATUS to 21600 to check your data expiry date and what’s left of it.

HOW TO DEACTIVATE MTN BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN: simply text NO to 21600 in order to deactivate it.

To configure your device for browsing, you can simply text SETTINGS to 3888 then save and activate the configuration settings that will be sent to you in order to start enjoying your data subscription or you enter the following configuration settings on your phone.

Here in this post, you will see the entire Etisalat internet data bundle plan made available by Etisalat.ng for all its subscribers. You will also get a two way configuration settings for your devices which will aid you to access the internet and other data connection using apps.
