How to Check Your BlackBerry Data Balance
You can achieve this in 2 ways; either use the USSD code by simply dialing *228# or you use the self-care by also dialing *200# and then selecting Check balance from the service reply.

How to Deactivate Etisalat’s BlackBerry Service (BIS)
To deactivate your BlackBerry data plan service, simply *229*0# or you Text STOP to 229. After using any of the above deactivation methods, you will receive a confirmatory message stating that you have successfully deactivated your BIS service. In order to reactivate it, you simply need to purchase any of their data plans and it will be automatically reactivated.

How to configure your Etisalat sim card for browsing
To configure your newly purchased or already owned SIM card for browsing, you can go with either of these two options:
Automatic configuration by texting SETTINGS to 790; you will receive your configuration settings in the form of a SMS so you have to save and activate it for browsing.

Manual configuration: to configure your device manually for browsing, enter the following settings accordingly being careful not to make mistakes
Account name: Etisalat
Homepage: http://www.etisalat.com.ng or http://mobile.etisalat.com.ng
Username: wap (or leave blank)
Password: wap (or leave blank)
Access point or APN: etisalat
IP or Proxy Address: 010.071.170.005
Port: 8080
